3.5 It was neat getting inside Michael's head as a teen. I've always been interested in him and more about the events that matured and shaped him into the person that he is. Elemental gave me this glimpse, and I appreciated what I saw. It is quite a change to hear this angry (justified), scared, but loyal and loving (even then) to his family. I also enjoyed having the POV of Emily. I hate that something bad happened to her, because I liked her spunk, and it is sad that she had dreams that never were realized. I can't help but feel that it was a bit rushed, and I wish that I could have had a little more romance and build up with the two, but I guess that wouldn't continue with the theme of the loss of what could have been. I feel though that a lot of emotional depth could have been added if we would have gotten the ending. I mean, I knew what was coming, but it feels like it just cut off mid chapter.
